“WE NEEDED A SOLUTION THAT WAS BUILT FOR EVENT TICKETING WHILE STILL ALLOWING US TO OFFER CLUB MEMBERSHIP SALES."
The Background
Managing freelance developers for their ticketing platform
Eventbilletten is a ticketing consultancy that has been in operation in Denmark for over 10 years. The company services all of the poker clubs in Denmark, and many of the country’s sport clubs as well.
“After gaining success with poker clubs and sports clubs, we realized that we didn’t only have to serve these industries,” says Jannick Helskov Visling, CEO and Director of Eventbilletten. “We decided we could approach different vendors such as concerts and other events. Unfortunately, our software was only focused on clubs and memberships, with ticketing as an afterthought. We needed a solution that was built for event ticketing while still allowing us to offer club membership sales.”
“We needed a partner that could do the software development and we could simply provide feedback, so that we could get the features we needed immediately instead of 6 months from now.” - Jannick Helskov Visling, CEO and Director of Eventbilletten
The Challenge
Getting new, necessary features built quickly
“We had our own ticketing system for 10 years. We were battling to keep up with development, and keep the system up to date,” explains Jannick. “At the same time, we wanted to expand to other customers, but we needed some features that we didn’t have.”
Jannick and the rest of the team at Eventbilletten decided that continuing to build every feature themselves would slow them down. “We realized we needed a partner that could do the software development and we could simply provide feedback, so that we could get the features we needed immediately instead of 6 months from now.”
Time delays and management responsibilities were weighing on the company. “The problem with freelance developers is that I can’t really guarantee the number of hours, so it’s project by project. Most freelancers also only take direction, but don’t bring strategic leadership to the table. It was time consuming managing them and testing everything ourselves.”
The team at Eventbilletten were looking to expand beyond their original market of poker clubs and sports clubs. For that reason, the team needed to improve their features for seat maps and ticketing categories.
The Solution
Relying on a pre-built, whitelabelled SaaS ticketing solution
Someone from Oxynade reached out to Jannick on LinkedIn over a year ago, but at that time he wasn’t prepared to transition to a new platform, because they were busy servicing clients. Then later, during the pandemic, Jannick began looking for a partner to provide ticketing.
Jannick was considering the additional seat maps, ticketing categories, and online sales features they needed to add to their own software. Currently, their software had seat maps for only one type of ticket. They could create a seat map with different tiers of tickets, such as general and VIP, for their clients.
In addition to more robust seat map features, the team also wanted custom questions and fields that could be added during the check-out process. Clients were asking for that, so they could collect more information from their customers. Promotional prices were yet another feature that the company was lacking. As well as relational tickets, so that a child ticket could only be purchased with an accompanying adult ticket. The list of requirements for new features went on and on.
“To build all of that would have taken a lot of time. So when we realized that Oxynade had an engine for seat maps that already included all of the things we wanted, it was easy to choose them rather than to keep trying to build everything ourselves. We thought, Let’s get onboarded with Oxynade and then continue the journey.”

The Result
Accessing best-in-class ticketing functionalityality
The Oxynade platform, a fully whitelabelled SaaS ticketing solution, provides advanced features that are both flexible and scalable. Key features include ticket sales, promotional prices, ticket tiers, memberships, and seat maps. The platform can be used for selling tickets for musical events, sports, zoos, museums, venues, and clubs.
“We have a lot of meetings right now where we are showcasing the system,” says Jannick, adding that his clients are able to do all of their setup now in anticipation of summertime sales.
The pandemic has provided a unique onboarding opportunity. “It’s a terrible time for business,” says team member Daniel Berg, “but it’s actually a good time to onboard people to something new because they have the time for it.”
